This is four Palaeo-Hebrew letters (Yod, Hay, Waw and Hay) called the "Tetragrammaton". The four characters are the four Hebrew letters that transliterate into English IAUE or Yahweh. Yahweh is the name of the Almighty Father in Heaven that people commonly call "The LORD" or "God". The reason we see "LORD" and "God" in our bibles is because of a Jewish tradition that the name Yahweh was not be spoken for fear that the name be blasphemed. However, this tradition does not agree with the scriptures which declare that His name be exalted! (Ps 68:4 is a good Example). The Preface of some bibles will declare why they change His name. Nearly all will cite tradition and familiarity as the reason.  Some think the tetragrammaton is to be pronounced as Jehovah. But Jehovah could never be the right pronunciation because the Hebrew language contains no "J" or "J" sound. The Tetragrammaton has been found in the 2000 year old Dead Sea Scrolls!

This is Palaeo-Hebrew for Yahshua, the Name of the Messiah.  Hebrew names have meanings contained within them.  Yahshua means "Yah's Salvation" or "Salvation of Yah". "And she shall bring forth a son, and you shall call his name Yahshua: for he shall save his people from their sins". Matthew 1:21

It is not necessary to speak Hebrew in order to pronounce the Names of the Father and the Son.  MANY other names and words are found throughout scripture which have been closely transliterated from Hebrew or Aramaic such as "ObidiYah", "Habbakuk", "Haggai", "ZechariYah" and several other prophets, "Alleluia" (HalleluYah, meaning "Praise ye Yah"), "Abba", "Canaan", "Ba'al", etc.  Even "Satan" is a close transliteration from the Hebrew word "Shatan".  Many will remember the former Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu.  The Creator's Name can be found within this name but notice that nobody started calling him "NetanLORD".  It's something to think about!
